HOW
I MET PATTY Hi, my name is Roger and after my wife left me at the age of 36 and with two teen girls, I thought life was
over for me. But after a year and a half of trying to meet other women and wondering what life had to
offer me after a divorce, I gave up. I had decided that if God wanted me to have another wife, He would have to send her to
me. I told my two girls that very thing. And then two weeks later, after I told them that, it happened! Patty was 20 years
old when she came into my living room that day and sat down in the floor in the middle of the room. I was resting on the couch
after just arriving home from a half day at work on a Saturday. She had brought her sister Sherri over to see my oldest daughter,
Cindy, who she knew from school. I had never seen Sherri's older sister before that day. She had been away in college.
But I saw her for the first time sitting there, in my living room floor. I was awestruck! I had never seen an angel before.
God had sent one to me, now. Six months later we were married.

Patty and I love the Lord and besides serving in our church regularly we are also involved in spiritual encounter
community called Tres Dias. It is a Christian renewal weekend for Christians of all denominations and it is a community
of believers who desire a closer walk with the Lord. It involves going to a 3-day weekend encounter with Jesus Christ and
being loved and supported by many Christians during the weekend. The men go on the first weekend and the women go the the
second weekend. You can only go through a weekend initially one time, but can serve on weekends for others many many times.
Information about this awesome Christ encounter weekend for the Middle Tennessee area can be found at: http://mttd.org or at http://musiccitytresdias.org/ for the Nashville area. For any other part of the country, information can be found on the national site at: http://tresdias.org

I work at one of the local universities. We enjoy our work and give God all praise and honor for allowing
us to have good health and a good life together. We spend time and money on missions as well as church and local needs. We
love to help where help is needed and hope we can do more in the future.

Pictured below is at a tent meeting we attended on Homecoming day, in 2005, at our home church
we had attended for many years in the past, which happened to be the church I grew up in. I was asked to play the
piano that day. It was a lot of fun to rejoice in the Lord.

NOW A LITTLE ABOUT OUR BACKGROUND I was born and raised in Tennessee. I grew up in
a Christian home. My parents always took us to church. We are Southern Baptist. I have five brothers. I have three brothers
that I actually grew up with, two older and one younger. Then thirteen years later mom had another boy and two years later
had another one. So now I have the five. My dad passed away February, 2005. He was 86. Mom passed away in
November of 1988 and now both are with the Lord. See "My Dad" and "Roger's Family" pages for more.
I love to
play the piano and keyboard. I dont play professionally. I never took music lessons, I learned to play after a neighbor showed
me some basic chords, and it took me many years to become somewhat accomplished on the piano. So I tend to play mostly basic
music like country, church and gospel music. I do enjoy relaxing with music. I am an ordained deacon. We are attending
a nice Cumberland Presbyterian church in Dickson TN and love it. but for the first 21 years of our marriage
we attended a country church where I grew up and also played the piano there, and we both taught Sunday School.
I have two daughters by a first marriage and we have two grandsons by my youngest daughter.
Patty
was born in Indiana and after many years of moving several times ended up here in Tennessee. Lucky for me she did, because
I was able to meet her one day through the aquintance of her two sisters and my daughters and the rest is history. We have
a wonderful marriage together. We were married April 4, 1980. She has two sisters and two brothers. Her mom, Estell, lives in
another home that we own and her dad has gone on to be with the Lord. You can see all of her family under, "Patty's
Family".
